GLP-1s Are Mainstream, But Stigma And Trust Gaps Remain, Study Finds

The HarrisX–Allison Worldwide study found GLP-1s are reshaping attitudes toward weight loss and care, prompting Allison Worldwide CEO Wendy Lund to declare that “culture is shaping health, but health is also shaping culture.”

The research found that 24% of Americans and 16% of Brits have used a GLP-1 medication, while another 23% of Americans and 30% of U.K. adults said they are open to or actively considering one.

The online study surveyed 6,138 adults in total, including 3,028 people in the U.S. across two waves in March and late May through early June, and 3,110 people in the U.K. between May 27 and June 5. The U.K. was selected for comparison because it is the second-largest European GLP-1 market and some analysts expect it to become the continent’s leading growth market.
